Happy Easter
It’s the start of the Easter Holidays!
Make sure you have lots of fun, do lots of reading and don’t eat TOO much chocolate.
Book Week
We’ve had lots of fun during Book Week.
We’ve been on a library hunt and played lots of games about books.
Keira has been making good use of her prize for winning the poetry competition and was writing a book review about Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Well done to Starr, Oliver, Dominic, Emelia and Ruby for working so hard and putting on a brilliant performance.

Testing surfaces
Our science topic this half term is Forces and Magnets.
This week we predicted which surfaces would have the most friction and which would have the least.
We tested our prediction by releasing a toy car down a slope and measuring how far it travelled.
Testing foods for our pizzas
In DT we are planning pizzas we are going to make.
This week we tasted lots of different foods and decided which ones we would have on our final pizza design.

Introducing Kandinsky
Today was our first art lesson of the new term.
We are beginning to learn about Russian born painter Wassily Kandinsky.
He was an abstract artist so his paintings didn’t look exactly like what they were meant to be.
We compared two of Kandinsky’s famous works and discussed images we could see.
Ideas of what could be seen included a mouse, buildings, mountains, a face, objects disappearing into a black hole and Alice falling down the rabbit hole into Wonderland.
After discussing primary and secondary colours, as well as the use of shade and tint we added colour to a Kandinsky picture.

Having fun coding
3M all love using the IT equipment.
This afternoon we coded on the ipads using Discovery Coding.
Then we used what we had learned to programme the Pro Bots.
This is the first time we have used Pro Bots and it was a little tricky at first.
